Boot Camp Original

A Man’s Life Begins Here…

Duty and obligation have their place in a man’s life, but God’s offer is for so much more.  A good man who settles for a good life has, quite simply, been robbed of the rich and full life God offers to any man who would leave it behind and follow Him.  A little scary?  Yes.  But true strength and life are only available to the man who will wrestle with God long enough to find God’s true heart.  Only then can a man find his own.  That’s God’s offer… life and sonship.  But the life you’re invited to live won’t come without a fight.  Boot Camp is the place to start that fight.

This extended weekend is for any man who wants God as He really is… intimate, surprising, life-giving, and a hero of heroes.  For many men, from a wide variety of spiritual backgrounds, it has played a pivotal role in their personal journeys and is looked back on as “the moment” they began to get clarity on their lives.

We’ll bet it’s not like anything you’ve been to before. No tea party. No false machismo.  This is the real deal:  God and the Gospel.  It is awesome and you may never be the same.

We use modern film, candid discussion, and guided opportunities for reflection (but no small groups).  This is more than a ”boot camp” for the masculine soul - it’s a search and rescue mission for your heart.

“This has been an awesome experience.  I have been telling my wife for years now that something was missing in my life – I just didn’t feel like a man.  I really appreciate the honest & from the heart testimonies from (you men).  It hit me like a brick that you are just like me & that I’m not alone in my struggles.  I feel now like there is hope & that I know how to approach God to meet my needs.”

“This has been a time of breakthrough for me.  The approach you guys take is refreshing.  To have time alone with God with direction is great.”

“This is not a retreat, it is a guided journey to reclaim the Gospel.  It is a journey deftly led by fellow sojourners who are simply further down the road… Indescribable, challenging tough, but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.”

-Ally, Former Attendee, Delta Company

Roll Call

I do not feel the sadness in my life and heart any more.Boot Camp Attendee
It has meant everything to me. Having gone through the book (Wild at Heart) several times, it did not have near the impact that these 3 ½ days have. I met God in a whole new way. I am ready and eager to take up the new role that He has given me – to engage in the battle.Boot Camp Attendee
I know now that my journey started long ago. This weekend helped to show me that…ABOB Boot Camp Attendee
The second time around was just, if not more, enlightening as the first time. It revealed more than it did the first time. My conviction to carry this journey forward throughout my entire life is much greater. Your growth as a group has spoken to me this weekend. It is obvious that God is at work in you all.Boot Camp Attendee2-Timer

Wow! What a privilege to spend an amazing weekend with other men who seek what I seek – a vision of the true Christian life…a life with challenges and trials, but with a fantastic re-connection with God and my masculine soul.ABOB Boot Camp AttendeeEcho
I cannot express what my life has been like since. Everyone I come into contact with is hearing, seeing, and feeling the repercussions of the weekend! I AM A BLESSED MAN!! I Love you guys and look forward to our stories bleeding into one another’s again!!Boot Camp Attendee
This time has been indescribable in many ways. After having found the Lord over 20 years ago…where had my joy, heart, calling, and identity gone? I have been re-planted in fresh soil it seems.Boot Camp Attendee

The kingdom of God is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. — Jesus of Nazareth

“I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of Port would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity.” -C.S. Lewis
